1. Our Commitments
- We affirm that Tribal governments retain ownership and control over their own data.
- We will not sell, trade, or disclose personal or Tribal data to third parties.
- We may use strictly de-identified, aggregated information for academic research purposes, but only in ways that do not reveal or compromise Tribal government identities, sovereignty, or sensitive positions.
- We will always respect requests from Tribal governments regarding modification, removal, or restriction of their information.

When you use Corral, we may collect:
- Account Information: Name, email, and role (e.g., Tribal leader, advocate, agency staff).
- Usage Information: Pages visited, searches performed, and interactions with features (for improving functionality).
- Consultation Data: Publicly available federal consultation notices and any additional information an agency chooses to share.
- Device and Security Data: IP address, browser type, and device details, used for security and to prevent misuse.
We do not collect sensitive personal information beyond what is required for account access and security.
3. How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Provide secure, passwordless login and maintain your account.
- Deliver relevant consultation notices and updates.
- Improve platform performance and accessibility.
- Support Tribal governments in tracking and engaging with consultation opportunities.
Academic Research: We may use de-identified, aggregated information to advance academic research on Tribal consultation, policy processes, and equity in governance. This research will always:
- Protect confidentiality by removing or anonymizing all identifiers.
- Respect sovereignty by ensuring findings cannot be traced back to a specific Tribal Nation without explicit consent.
- Be used only for educational, scholarly, or nonprofit purposes — not for commercial gain.
4. Privacy & Security
- All research datasets are created using privacy-preserving methods (e.g., removal of identifiers, aggregation, randomization if needed).
- Corral is not intended for users under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
5. Data Sharing
- We do not sell or share user or Tribal government data with advertisers or unrelated third parties.
- Limited data may be shared with trusted service providers (e.g., email delivery, hosting) solely to support platform operations, under strict confidentiality agreements.
- Any disclosure required by law will be handled transparently and, where relevant, with notice to the affected Tribal Nation.
6. Your Choices
- Users may request deletion of their personal information.
- Tribal governments may request deletion, modification, or restriction of their data.
- You may opt out of non-essential communications at any time.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Users will be notified of significant changes. Continued use of Corral after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
